Bald Head Island is a sailor’s delight, offering near perfect conditions for offshore and protected inshore cruising and racing less than 30 minutes from the picturesque Bald Head Island Marina. The newly formed Bald Head Island Sailing Club provides island property owners and vacationers a convenient way to enjoy the waters surrounding Bald Head Island year round.
The club welcomes all ages and skill levels, from seasoned “blow boaters,” to never-sailed novices. Annual memberships and weeklong temporary memberships are available, allowing access to a variety of boats including Optimist Prams, Club 420s, Hobie 16s and daysailing keelboats. For newcomers to the sport, or for sailors looking to sharpen their skills, lessons are offered from April-September.
